Obituary for Jacqueline Wilder Jacqueline Zimmer Wilder, 84, of Monroe, MI went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 19, 2018. Jackie was a resident of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Senior Living Community following her stroke in February, 2013. She was born on August 13, 1933 in Detroit, MI to Clarence and Virginia (Hawkins) Zimmer. She attended Denby High School in Detroit, MI (class of ’51). On September 12, 1953 she married David Glenn Wilder and together they had four children: David (Denise) Wilder II, of Stafford, VA, Cheryl (Mark) Braunlich, of Monroe, MI, Craig (Nancy) Wilder of Petersburg, MI and Lori (Steve) Freers of Murrieta, CA. Jackie was a graduate of Michigan State University in Secretarial Science, and later went on to get her Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Toledo, and a Master’s degree in Education from Eastern Michigan University. Her most rewarding job was that of teacher at Summerfield Elementary School in Petersburg, MI from 1977 to 1997. One of her great joys in life was time spent with her family boating on the Great Lakes. She spent countless hours doing crafts and projects with her grandchildren. She was a ‘doer’ who was constantly working on a new project or adventure. Jackie and her husband Dave retired in Summerfield, FL and enjoyed many years traveling extensively throughout the country in their motor home. Jackie is survived by her loving husband, David Wilder and sister, Joan (Zimmer) Malec of Palm Desert, CA. She was the heart of her family which included ten grandchildren: Eric Wilder, Heather Wilder (Doutov), Brittany Braunlich Blaszczyk, Kristina Braunlich Maditz, Scott Wilder, Monica Wilder (Moniz), Thomas Wilder, Allison Freers, Jason Wilder, and Ryan Freers, and three great-grandchildren: Liam Blaszczyk, Aiden Maditz and Colton Wilder. The Wilder family would like to express our love and gratitude to the staff at IHM Senior Living Community for their nurturing, patience, and loving care. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018 at the IHM Motherhouse, 610 W. Elm Ave., Monroe, MI, 48162, from 9:00 AM until Mass of the Resurrection celebrating her life at 10:00 AM. Interment will be held at Pleasantview Cemetery in Summerfield Township. The Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI, 48161 is assisting with funeral arrangements.
