Ismael Bonilla, age 42 of East Chicago, IN passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018. He is survived by 5 children: Nehemiah, Arianna, Nishant, Melina and Lila; parents, Luz and Rafael Bonilla; life partner, Amita Nagubadi; 5 siblings: Luz (Marco) Vidaurri, Carolina Bonilla, Moises Bonilla, Rafael (Cara) Bonilla and Araceli (Nathaniel) Chavez; niece, Savannah B. McKenzie; nephews, Noah Chavez and Bhabesh Nagubadi. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 13, 2018 at 11:15 am from the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN followed by 12:00 noon Mass at St. Margaret Mary Church, 1445 Hoffman Street, Hammond, IN with Rev. Luis Ferneidy officiating. Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME will be from 9:00 am until 11:15 am Friday morning. Ismael was an Alum of Purdue University Calumet and a member of the Teamsters Local Union #142. Ismael had a big heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
