Obituary for IRVING LEE EPSTEN Irving Epsten, 91 of Overland Park, KS passed away June 19, 2018. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday, June 22, 2018 at Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care or the charity of your choice. Irving was born May 18, 1927 in St. Joseph, MO to Otto and Tillie Epsten. He co-owned Otto’s Dry Goods in St. Joseph, MO with his father and then later sold men’s clothing when he moved to Kansas City. After forty years of bachelorhood, Irving met the love of his life, Shirley. They were married in 1968 and with this union Irving acquired his three loving daughters. Irving was a member of Congregation Beth Shalom and was an avid reader who enjoyed deep discussion regarding history. He also was a wonderful handyman who would help his family and neighbors by sharing his skills. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley Epsten and sister, Esther Cohen. Survivors include his daughters, Carla (Stephen) Max, Lynn (Michael) Parks, Sandy (Scott) Enge; grandchildren, Elyse Max (Chris) Hutchings, Joshua (Jinny) Max, Bernard (Di) Parks, Erica (Ryan) Courtney, Arin (Whitney) Enge, Laura (Garrick) Addison, Sammy (Melissa) Parks; great grandchildren, Maya, Estella, Emma, Reagan, Hayden, Spencer, Ryder, Brady, Chase and many loving extended family.
