Tell City, Indiana Helen D. Wood, 70, passed away July 23, 2018 at Oakwood Health Campus. She was born August 26, 1947 in Gibson County, daughter of the late Bertis and Lois Jean (Newton) Russell. Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Richard and Jerry Marshall. A 1967 graduate of Princeton Community High School, Helen retired from Buehler’s Buy-Low in 2016 after 30 years. She was a member of Deer Creek Baptist Church. A devoted mother and grandmother, she loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed needlework, quilting and watching cooking shows. Helen is survived by her daughter, Vickie Deer (Jon) Cannelton and son, Chad Burst (Catherine), Cannelton, sister, Cathy Sloan, Princeton, brother, Jim Marshall, Corydon, three grandchildren, Ashley Burst and Jack and Katie Deer. Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM CST on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Pastor Christain Watkins will officiate. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11:00 AM until service time. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital. Messages of condolence may be sent to www.huberfuneralhome.net
