Hector DeBruyne 1923 2018

Obituary for Hector DeBruyne Hector was born the fourth son of Leon DeBruyne and Pauline Carton DeBruyne in Broomfield, Colorado. He was raised around this area and lived his entire life in Boulder County. He married Doris Mrozik in 1947 and farmed with his brother, Jerome, until 1954 when he purchased his own farm and dairy herd. In 1965, he retired from farming and moved into Longmont. He was then employed by an implement company repairing machinery and then as a truck driver for a gasoline station. He later became the Terminal Manager of the Great Western Sugar Company. Although he was only able to obtain an eighth grade education, he was a self-educated man and went on to obtain his real estate license. He also served on the school board of Beasley Elementary School. Upon the passing of his wife, Doris, he met and married Mildred Evans in 1981. She preceded him in death in 2006. He is survived by his son David DeBruyne (Susan), daughters Diane Turner (Chuck) and Denise Hennessy (Mike), as well as six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM, Monday July 9, 2018 at The Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Interment following service at the Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
