Obituary for Hearshel Diamond Hearshel Diamond, 70 of Phyllis, KY, passed away Saturday July 28, 2018 at the Pikeville Medical Center. He was born May 15, 1948 in Nolan, WV to the late Cecil & Goldie Dillion Diamond. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara “Varney” Diamond, one son Douglas Brent Varney, grandchild Benjamin Anderson, a nephew, Jimbo Diamond; brothers, Bill, Ronnie, James Ray, Jimmy & Cecil Diamond. Hershel is survived by his loving daughters, Leona Stump of Martin, KY, Karen Anita Fields & Sharon Annette Varney both of Phyllis, KY, he also raised Haley Hancock, Shania Stump, Cynthia May as his daughters, four brothers, Gary (Bear) Diamond , Otis (Debby) Diamond, Troy Diamond, Ralph (Sue) Diamond, two sisters, Donna Gail Diamond & Debbie Diamond. grandchildren, Crystal (Donald) Griffith, Brandon ( Samantha) Anderson, Craig Anderson, Hailey Fields, great-grandchildren; Mason Anderson, Damion Anderson, Santana Anderson, Christalyn Pinion, Donaven Griffith, Rebekah Hancock, a very special nephew, Bradley Hayes.& many nieces and nephews. Hearshel’s hobbies included hunting and fishing. He loved his family and was good to all. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. The family will accept friends at the Thacker Memorial Chapel, Tuesday July 31, 2018 at 6PM and Wednesday August 1, 2018 with services each night at 7PM with Gary Dove, Jim Abshire, Dwayne Abshire & Tim Callahan officiating. Funeral services will be Thursday August 2, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. Burial to follow at the Annie E. Young Cemetery at Pikeville, KY.
