Harry W. McFatridge, 71, of Fairland, IN, passed away Friday, July 27, 2018 at Greenfield Healthcare Center. He was born February 16, 1947, in Rush County, IN to Wesley and Edna (Downey) McFatridge. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Harry is a graduate of the former Arlington High School, the Reserve Basic Law Enforcement Academy in Johnson County and the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. Harry retired from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department after many years of service. He was a member of the Mason’s, and the F.O. P. He loved fishing and being outdoors. Harry was gifted in the technology department and enjoyed working on computers. He married Sharon (Hamilton) McFatridge on April 15, 1967 and she survives. He is also survived by his daughters, Dawn (Brian) Smith and Heather (Mike) Cubert; grandchildren, Nicolas (Jordon) Smith; Jacob Smith, Nathaniel Smith, Kyndall Smith, and Sierra Cubert; great-grandchild, McKenna Smith, sisters, Marilyn Selke and Jane Conway, brother-in-law, Thomas Hamilton and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and Uncle Ralph “Scoot” and Aunt Katie McFatridge. Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, August 3, 2018 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176. Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Ian Farnsley officiating.
