Frances Mary Acker sadly passed away on July 28, 2018. Frances was born in southeastern PA to the late John and Katherine Farrelly of West Chester, PA. She was predeceased by her son, Michael. Frances was a devoted wife to her husband, Edwin J. Acker of over 54 years; a loving mother to her children, John Acker and his fiancée, Trisha Marston, both of Mechanic Falls, ME, Jeffrey Acker of Philadelphia, PA. and David Acker and his wife, Tonya of Wilmington, DE. Frances was an adoring grandmother to her grandchildren, Kirstie, Meaghan, Christian; and great grandmother to Camden. She is also survived by her sister, Kathleen Oakes of West Chester, PA. Frances was happiest spending time with her friends and family, her favorite pastime was making homemade crafts with Edwin, which they sold at craft shows. The family would also like to thank the Kutz Home of Wilmington, DE for the loving care and support they provided for Frances who they endearingly called “Lucy”. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703 at 12:30 PM. The Visitation will be held at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703 from 10 am to 12 noon on Thursday. The Burial Service will immediately follow mass in Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA. Frances was always sending donations to dogs in need, the family would like that in lieu of flowers, donations in Frances name may be made to, Renee’s Rescues, PO Box 1297, Hockessin, DE 19707 or online at reneesrescues.org.
