Obituary for Evelyn Christine Strickland Evelyn Christine Strickland, 90, of Peachtree City, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on July 11, 2018. She was born on June 30, 1928 to Marvin and Agnes McArthur in Brentwood, TN. Evelyn enjoyed flowers and plants, exercise, reading the morning paper, horses, country music, and dancing. She was even nicknamed, “Happy Feet”. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Strickland and her parents. She is survived by her children, Vickie Lynn Gann (Gary Dale) and Jacqueline Leigh Kittrell; grandchildren, Traci Michele Wombough (Greg Alan), Amity Faith Flener, and Michael D. Flener; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Michael Wombough, Samuel Alan Wombough, Ethan Cole, Laura Ann, and Megan Faith; brothers, Marvin Pittman McArthur, Jr. (Dorthy Ann) and Thomas Earl McArthur (Dianne); sister, Mildred Louis Elliott (Joe); and an abundance of loving friends at Somerby Independent Living and Providence United Methodist Church. A graveside service will be Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Williamson Memorial Gardens. There will be a one – hour visitation prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org, or Providence United Methodist Church, www.provumc.com.
