Eugene Ray Calhoun 2018

Eugene Ray Calhoun, 82, of Dutch Hollow Rd. Weston passed away at 2:45 a.m. on Monday, July 30, 2018 in the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport following an extended illness. He was born in Martins Ferry, OH a son of the late Roy Orville Calhoun and Gladys Dowdell Calhoun. On February 22, 1967 he married Elizabeth Mildred Rosenberger and they celebrated 38 years of marriage. He is survived by his companion of 13 years, Patty Phillips, of Weston. He is also survived by three children: Eldon Calhoun of Orville, OH, Eugenia Rexroad of Weston, and Eden Calhoun of Walkersville; five grandchildren: Mariah Calhoun, Kyle White, Cole Riffle, Dylan Riffle, and Jenna Riffle; and one sister, Gladys Long of Canton, OH. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son, John Calhoun; and six sisters. Eugene was an honored veteran of the United States Army and worked as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator for coal companies. He was a tinkerer and backyard mechanic who could fix just about anything. Eugene’s request for cremation has been honored and his family will have a private Celebration of Life Service at a later date.
