OBITUARY Earl C . Dillon June 23, 1946 – July 12, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Funeral services for Earl C. Dillon Jr., age 72 of Chippewa Bay will be held at 6:00pm on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Pastor David Sheppard officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Brier Hill Fire Department after the funeral services. Burial will be at the Redwood Cemetery at a later date. Calling hours will be held also on Tuesday from 12:00-2:00 & 4:00-6:00pm at the funeral home. Mr. Dillon passed away on Thursday (July 12, 2018) at the Riverledge Healthcare Facility surrounded by his loving family. Surviving is his wife Christina K. Dillon of Chippewa Bay; two daughters Schelin Crosby & her husband Frank of Brier Hill; Katina Dillon & her husband Thomas Bennett of Chippewa Bay; a son Matthew Dillon & his wife Christine of Baldwinsville; grandchildren Alyssa, Alyson, & Alyvia Crosby, Kelsey & Cooper Bennett, and Illiana & Lochlyn Dillon; an uncle Norman Hunneyman & his wife Janet of Sackets Harbor; an Aunt Mary Hunneyman of Redwood; along with many nieces, nephews, & cousins. Earl was born on June 23, 1946 in Alexandria Bay, a son of the late Earl C. & Elizabeth (Hunneyman) Dillon. He graduated from Hammond Central School in 1964 and continued his education at Oswego State University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching. He later married Christina K. Mullin on November 22, 1969 at the Gouverneur Methodist Church with Rev. Stanley Brown officiating the couple’s marriage. During Earl’s career he was employed with the Labor Union and transferred to Local 278 Carpenter’s Union where he worked as a carpenter with his father. During his time with the Union he worked on the Nine Mile Nuclear Power Plant, built schools throughout the North Country, and built the Cogeneration Plant to name a few. In the later part of his career, he moved from working with his hands to the business aspect of Carpentry. He worked as a Field Agent and then as a Business Representative until his retirement in 2005. Earl was a member of Ducks Unlimited, the Chippewa Bay Fish & Game Club, and Local and International Carpenters’ Unions. He enjoyed duck hunting, fishing, bowling, dancing, watching and photographing local sports, coaching little league girls and varsity softball, being on the St. Lawrence River, listening to 50’s & 60’s music, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, spending time in Chippewa with his family and friends, and being the best spaghetti dinner host the local high school kids will ever remember.
