Duane R. Andersen, 65, of Hallam, formerly of Beatrice, died Thursday, July 12, 2018 at his daughter’s home. He was born on November 29, 1952 at Beatrice and graduated from Beatrice High School in 1971. He married Dorothy Marie Herrman on July 19, 1975 at St. James Catholic Church in Cortland and they lived in Beatrice. Survivors include two daughters, Jennifer Rohr and husband Eric of Hallam, and Deeanna Valish and husband Dana of Lincoln; two sons, Matthew Andersen and wife Jennifer of Raymond and Daylin Andersen of Hallam; seven grandchildren, Devan and Jaiden Rohr, Connor, Loghan and Bryce Andersen, Alexis and Braxton Valish; his mother, Margaret Andersen of Beatrice; two brothers, Ronald Andersen and wife Tammy of Omaha, and James Andersen of Beatrice; one sister, Joyce Hartman and husband Larry of Nebraska City; three brothers-in-law, Jim Herrman, Bill Herrman and wife Carol, and Stan Herrman and wife Sherri all of Great Bend, KS; two sisters-in-law, Beckie Miller and husband Don of Glendale, AZ, and Cindy Degenhardt and husband Raymond of Great Bend, KS; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Andersen; his wife, Dorothy Marie Andersen; one grandson, Ethan Andersen; one brother-in-law, Jack Jansen, and two sisters-in-law, Nancy Herrman and Beth Schenkel. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, July 16, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Robert Barnhill and Father BalaRaju Marneni officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery of Beatrice. A Scriptural Rosary service will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 15 at Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice. A memorial has been established to the family’s choice. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home from 8:00 A.M. Saturday to 9:00 P.M.
