Obituary for Dorothy Baker Dorothy Holgate Baker August 12, 1922 – July 8, 2018 Dorothy Holgate Baker passed away July 8, 2018 in Sarasota, Florida. She was born on August 12, 1922 to Raymond David Holgate and Gala Jeannette (Green) Holgate in Jefferson County, Iowa. Colorado Springs was her home from 1961 to 2012 prior to moving to Sarasota, Florida. Dorothy is survived by her son, Robert D. Baker (Lisa); four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, G.J. Baker; a son, Dennis M. Baker; and two grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. Inurnment will be at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Columbarium of Faith. Memorials in Dorothy’s name may be made to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, 610 Abbot Lane, Colorado Springs, CO 80905.
