Obituary for Doris Lorena Miller Doris L. Miller age 87, of Zumbrota died on Wednesday, July 25, 2108 at Susie’s Place in Hayfield. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 30, 2018 at 11:00 am at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota with Pastor Wayne Schoch officiating. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday. Arrangements were made with Mahn Family Funeral Home – Larson Chapel. Burial will be in the Zumbrota Cemetery. Doris Lorena Hinrichs was born on March 22, 1931 to John and Lorena (Borgschatz) Hinrichs in Zumbrota. She was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church. Doris graduated from Zumbrota High School in 1949 and worked for the Zumbrota Hospital. She married Richard Miller on September 20, 1953 at Christ Lutheran Church. They farmed in Oak Center from 1953 to 1964 until they moved to their farm in Zumbrota. The family all helped with the dairy and crop farming. Doris did all the bookkeeping for the farm. She also worked for the Zumbrota Nursing Home. Doris was a loving, caring wife for over 60 years; after Richard passed in 2013 she continued to care for their home. Until the last two years where she resided at Susie’s Place in Hayfield, she really enjoyed her time and all the wonderful care she received there. Doris was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church; she was very strong in her faith. Doris enjoyed dancing, baking, canning, card clubs, listening to old time music, supporting her kids in 4H activities and especially spending time with her family and grandchildren. Doris is survived by her ten children, John (Lisa) of Zumbrota, Ruth (Jay) Heineman of Estes Park, CO, Paul (Lynn) of Racine, Mary (Glen) Roberson of Mazeppa, Charles (Tara) of Zumbrota, Eric (Verone) of Zumbrota, Elizabeth (Joe) Klingsporn of Pine Island, Jerome (Trisha) of Zumbrota, Jeffrey (Heidi) of Goodhue, Matthew (Stephanie) of Zumbrota; grandchildren, Ross, Nolan, and Geena Miller, Teresa Hulst and Kiel Davis, Amanda Roberson-Huston, Andrew Roberson, Amy Gerhart, and Aricka Roberson, Celeste, Chayse and Colte Miller, Tyana Olson and Brenna Thomas, Emily, Adam and Alayna Klingsporn, Lauren, Ethan and Aaron Miller, Parker and Easton Miller, Darby, Atticus, Rhett and Beatrix Miller, Karsten and Gannon Miller; great-grandchildren, Brody, Luke and Milo Hulst, and Eli Davis; two brothers, Willis Hinrichs and John Hinrichs; three sisters, Lucille Quam, Lillian Anderson and Judy Campbell. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; brother, Arley Hinrichs; and two sisters, Ruth Hinrichs and Marie Bolster.
