Obituary for Doris M. Holmes NILES – Doris M. Holmes, 71, passed away peacefully at 4:00 a.m. on Sunday July 29, 2018 at her home following an 18 month illness. She was born in Warren on December 7, 1946 the daughter of William and Evelyn (Newell) Hake. A 1965 graduate of Niles McKinley High School she was a member of the Niles First Presbyterian Church. She cherished activities with her family especially her grandchildren. Doris is survived by her husband Robert Jay Holmes whom she married on October 21, 1964; daughter, Sherry Beatty of Austintown; son, Robert R. (Jennifer) Holmes of Delaware, Ohio; four grandchildren, Leah Beatty, Rainna Beatty, Gavin Holmes, Rylan Holmes and a brother, Ronald “Toby” (Shirley) Hake of Niles. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, William Hake and Charles Hake. Private calling hours and services were held at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, Niles.
