Donald R. Garris, 83, of Latrobe, formerly of Greensburg, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at Westmoreland Hospital. Born Feb. 9, 1935, in Greensburg, he was a son of the late Oliver R. and Alice L. (Harrold) Garris. He was a member of Hempfield Church of Christ, where he served many years as a deacon. He worked for SuperValu for 31 years and also served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard as a sergeant. Don was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Garris; sisters, Anna Marie Garris, Sarah Garris, Emma Mae Hisker, Elizabeth Ashbaugh, Helen Kubicek, Ora Altman and Betty Trout; and brothers, William Garris, Charles Garris and Oliver Garris. He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce (Wiltrout) Garris, of Latrobe; three sons, Raymond Garris, of Derry, Roger Garris, of Latrobe, and Robert Garris, of Elkton, Md.; a daughter, Rhonda Anderson and husband Travis, of Latrobe, 10 grandchildren, Ryan Garris and wife Sydney (Elliott) Garris, of Clarkston, Mich., Rustin Garris, of Waterford, Mich., Rachel Garris, Kyle Garris, Christian Garris, Brooke Garris, Trey Anderson and Kaitlyn Anderson, all of Latrobe, and Lillyanna Garris and Brianna Garris, of Oxford; a great-granddaughter, Hazel Garris, of Clarkston, Mich.; a sister, Alberta John, of Greensburg; and many nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, 524 N. Main St., Greensburg, where his funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Mike Hazelton officiating.
