The Lord of Glory called our beloved mother, Dolores Modena home on July 22, 2018. Her life revolved around her love of music. She was a talented singer and dancer as well as a beautiful model. She was a transplant from Ohio to the small village of Pentwater where she raised her four children, becoming involved as a Cub Scout Den Leader and a Village Council Member, planting deep roots. She was a devoted wife of sixty years to Victor G. Modena Jr. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her children, Andrea (Juan) Garcia, V. George Modena II, John Modena and Gena (Daniel) Hooker; grandchildren, Zachariah (Megan), Amanda and Abel Garcia, Autumn and Amber Modena, Isaiah and Sapphire Modena, Benjamin, Nathaniel and Gabriel Hooker; great-grandchildren, Lucky John Garcia, Jaidyn, Madisyn and Elijah Hooker, and Aurora and William Hooker. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Natelle (Doan) Aten; granddaughter, Lydia Garcia; her only brother, John Aten and his wife, Barbara; and her only niece, Bobby Ruth Aten-Armstrong. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 11th at 3 pm with a Celebration of Life Service at 3:30 pm at Harris Funeral Home in Shelby with light refreshments following until 5 pm.
