Denise M. (Colwell) French, 50, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away Friday, July 20, 2018, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Peter French for 27 years. Denise was born April 9, 1968, in Sharon, CT, daughter of the late Harold and Bernice (Brochu) Colwell. A Licensed Insurance Agent, she owned and operated Summit Insurance in Torrington. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Taylor French and Kelsey French, both of Torrington; two sisters, Joanne (Mark) Conlogue of Burlington, CT, Judy Jerry; nephews David (Amanda) Conlogue, Steven (Kristen Cote) Conlogue; a niece Jennifer Dugan as well as many friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 49 South St., Litchfield, CT. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington.
