Dean L. Woodard, 83, passed away Friday, July 27, 2018, at his home in Auburn. He was born May 12, 1935, in Payne, Ohio to the late Fredrick M. and Buelah I. (Kemmerly) Woodard. Dean married Annette K. Johnston on Sept. 20, 1957, in Fort Wayne, and she passed away March 10, 2017. Dean worked in the maintenance department at Hendrickson in Kendallville for 31 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias and Fort Wayne Skin Divers Club. He also loved to bowl and was a former singles State Bowling Champion. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Tracey D. and Wanita Woodard of Auburn; daughter and son-in-law, Teri L. and Rod Young of Elkhart; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Charlene S. and Mike Fromholt of New Haven, and Janice M. Woodard of New Haven. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and three sisters, Carol J. Woodard, Mary Lou Woodard, and Sandra K. Woodard. Private funeral services will take place at Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Waterloo. Burial will take place in Lehman Cemetery in Payne, Ohio.
