Danville – Darlene K. Hood, 61, finally got to go be with Billy on Monday July 30, 2018 when she passed away at Riverside Hospital. She was born in Wooster on August 3, 1956 to Albert and Brenda Owens. On October 31, 1976 she married William L. Hood. He preceded her in death on August 5, 2002. She was a member of the Riley Chapel Baptist Church and the Mohican Baptist Association, and was very active in Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and also volunteered at The Laurels of Mount Vernon. In addition to her husband Bill, she was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Darrin Owens, her mother and father-in-law, William G. and Betty Hood, and her sister-in-law, Sandy Hood. She is survived by her daughters, Julie (Brad) McLarnan, and Rhonda (David) Carter, her sons, Eric and Jason Hood, and her grandchildren, Devin, Molly, Elizabeth, Kendall, Aiden, Brooklyn, Lucas, Wesley, and Chloe, all of Danville, her sister, Rebecca (James) Kowal, and her brother, Darrell Owens, both of Wooster, her sister-in-law, Debbie Owens of Wooster, her brother-in-law, Greg Hood of Danville, nephews, Adam and Joshua Hood of Danville, and a special friend, Jennifer Dewalt of Mount Vernon. Calling hours will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 7 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville, where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Pastors Jay Horn and Sheila Kent will officiate, and burial will follow in Riley Chapel Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to the Riley Chapel Baptist Church, 30457 Walhonding Rd. Danville, 43014.
