Obituary for Darlene M. Hixon Darlene Hixon, 91 Kearney resident Darlene Hixon, 91, of Kearney died Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at St. Luke’s Good Samaritan Home. A graveside service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, July 28th at the Wilcox Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Online condolences may be shared at www.osrfh.com. Services entrusted to O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services of Kearney. Darlene was born July 10, 1926 in Eddyville, NE to Vernard and Lillian (Ball) Cole. She was united in marriage to LaVern on March 31, 1946. The couple was blessed with two children, Gloria and Ron. They lived in Colorado for 36 years before moving to Kearney. She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Welsh; son, Ron Hixon all of Kearney; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son-in-law, Wayne Welsh; and brother-in-law, Robert Hixon. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Darlene M.
