CHRISTINE STEWART, daughter of the late Fannie and Walter Reed Wilson, was born on July 23, 1925 in Danville, Virginia. CHRISTINE was educated in the Danville public school system. Soon after, she met and married James Stewart (now deceased) and moved to New York City, NY. She later moved to Hoboken, NJ and gained employment as a nursing assistant at St. Mary’s Hospital, where she worked for a number of years. Thereafter, she settled in Jersey City, NJ and worked for approximately 30 years also as a nursing assistant at St. Francis Hospital. She loved entertaining and being around people. Along with her Joy Sister, CHRISTINE played pokeno and went on outings. She also belong to the Breakfast Club with members who previously worked at St. Francis. She also liked bingo and dominoes. CHRISTINE enjoyed dressing. Her shoes, pocketbooks, and nails all had to match her clothing. She also had many coats to wear with whatever occasion she was attending. We can’t forget her love for all kinds of music and parties and dancing. She also enjoyed watching all the award shoes on television. Most of all, CHRISTINE loved gospel music. She frequently attended the gospel concerts with her daughter, Rosalind and friends. She had many favorite groups. CHRISTINE was predeceased by 8 brothers and sisters, her husband James Stewart, and her sons Gregory and Gerald R. Stewart. CHRISTINE leaves to cherish her memory: her daughters, Rosalind Stewart-Jones, and Barbara Thornton; sons, Ronald and Donald Stewart, and James Stewart, Jr.; a brother, Olanda Wilson; eight grandchildren; nine great – grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
