Obituary for Charles Taylor Jr. Charles W. Taylor III, age 68, entered Heaven’s Gate on Wednesday, July 18, 2018. He was born in Gorman, Texas to Charles W. Jr. and Jessie J. (Rubio) Taylor on February 23, 1950. Charles served in the United States Army, Green Beret Special Forces during the Vietnam War. His performance during his service earned him many medals and awards, the most prestigious of them being 4 Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. Charles was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed studying the Bible, watching war movies, playing pranks and joking around with others. He is preceded in death by his parents and his 1st wife of 35 years, Linda Taylor. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 4 years, Debra Taylor; son William Taylor and wife Melanie; son Charles W. Taylor IV and wife Kathea; daughter Venetia Reynolds and husband Brad; 12 grandchildren; 2 grand-dogs along with numerous extended family and friends. The family will receive friends between 10:00 and 11:00 am, Monday, July 23, 2018 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 N. MacArthur Blvd. in Irving. A funeral service will be 11:00am, on Monday, July 23, 2018 at the funeral home, with an interment at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens immediately following.
