Obituary for Catherine M Ashley Catherine Margaret Ashley died July 19, 2018 at her home surrounded in love by the most important thing in her life, her family. Born July 5, 1949, in Sault. Ste Marie, Michigan. Cathey was preceded in death by her mother Margaret Weston Wolfe, Father John Cathey Wolfe, and her brother Donnie Wolfe. In addition to her husband Jim Ashley, she is survived by her children, Diedra Ashley of New Madrid, Missouri, Jennifer Ashley Wilds and her husband Brad of Dandridge, Tennessee and her son, Jason Ashley and his wife Christin of St. Louis, Missouri. Cathey also leaves behind her special grandchildren, Braden Wilds, Cameron Ashley, Morgan Wilds, Bradley Wilds and his wife, Hannah. Cathey leaves behind two brothers, Leland and Larry Wolfe and her very special sister, Melissa Wolfe as well as numerous other relatives and friends. The consummate caregiver, Cathey found her calling in life after raising three children and devoted much of her life toward championing for the well being of those in need of assistance while working as a Social Worker at the Tennessee Department of Health and Human Services. Over the past 8 years, Cathey’s life has been devoted to grandchildren whom she absolutely adored. The impression she had on countless people will forever be seen in their compassionate actions going forward. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 8 P.M followed by a service celebrating her incredible life and contributions to all she came in contact with. Reverend Chad Chambers will be officiating the service. The family would like to express special thanks to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice for the amazing care and compassion they provided to Cathey and her family throughout Cathey’s journey. In lieu of flowers it is requested donations be made to Smokey Mountain Home Health and Hospice for them to use to aid those without the financial means to obtain the amazing services their health professionals provide.
