Obituary for Catherine E. Alvaro Delmar- It is with great sadness that the family of Catherine “Kay” Alvaro announces her passing on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the age of 90 years in Albany, NY. Kay will be fondly remembered by her three children Jane (Tony) Luiso, Fred, Jr. (Theresa) and Ann-Margret (Joe) Foley. Kay will also be fondly remembered by her four grandchildren Jackie, Rachel, Gianna and Joseph Foley. Kay was born in Hackensack, NJ but moved to Albany at a young age. She graduated from Philip Schuyler High School and was a home maker until she took over the bookkeeping and accounting for her late husband’s, Fred Sr., construction company. She never stopped working and moved on to become the Office Manager (Mom) for the Orthopedic offices of Drs. Dexter, Heineman, Colman & Victoriano. Kay had an undeniable love for the Saratoga Race Course, NY Yankees, Lake George, NY, and bowling. Her grandchildren and their friends were a very meaningful part of her life. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Kay’s family on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 9:15 am from the McVeigh Funeral Home, thence to the Parish of Mater Christi Church, 40 Hopewell Street, Albany at 10:00 am where her funeral Mass will be celebrated. The Rite of Interment will immediately follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. Memorial donations in memory of Kay can be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Avenue, Menands, NY 12204.
