Obituary for Betty Louise Collignon On Thursday July 26, 2018, Betty Louise Embry Collignon, loving mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 73 in Louisville, KY. Betty was born September 14, 1944 in Abilene, TX to Othel Embry and Pearl Walker Maness. On December 17, 1962 she married William P. Collignon from Chicago, IL. They had a daughter, Tamara Sue. Betty and her husband “Bill” were owners of Calc-Type, Inc. and The Sugar Cone Shop in Middletown, KY. In 1995, she received her nursing degree from Jefferson Community College and retired from Baptist Hospital East as an O.R. nurse for over 10 years. She was talented in writing, photography, painting, and crafting cards. She also loved to spend time with family on Cave Run Lake. Betty was preceded in death by her husband William, her sisters Shirley May Decker and Anne Marie Lang and her beloved dog Roxy. Betty is survived by her daughter Tamara (Ronald) Pottinger, granddaughter Nicole, sister Wanda Kay Branin, and three nieces. A memorial service will be held August 6th, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Masonic Homes of Shelbyville, KY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations are made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, one of Betty’s favorite charities.
