Obituary for Betty Ford Betty Lou Weaver -Ford was born on Feb. 8th, 1932 in Mesa Arizona to Theodore and Fannie Weaver. Betty always described herself as being a tomboy having four brothers to contend with. She proved to be pretty tough in her later years. When she was nine years old she lost her hearing due to an illness which left her profoundly deaf for the rest of her life. Betty never let her deafness hinder her from living a full life. After the family moved to Stockton California her mother enrolled her in a school for the deaf in Berkeley California where she remained until she graduated from high school. After high school Betty met Clyde Ford Sr. in 1952. They fell in love, were married in 1953 and produced three beautiful children. Betty was a very loving and kindhearted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Those of us close to her knew that she only acted tough, but beneath that tough exterior she was a softie. Betty’s life was filled with exciting experiences. Being a military wife allowed her to travel and live in several states and countries. Her favorite place was her experience in Japan. She always enjoyed sharing her travel experiences with everyone. Once settling back in the states, she went to school to become a key punch operator in the 60’s and later in life worked for State Savings and Loan and Sharps Army Depot becoming a supervisor of her department. She was an avid reader and loved to sew, crochet, create jewelry, and work on her latest project researching genealogy of the Weaver family. Betty was an exceptional individual with a beautiful spirit. She is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Fannie Weaver, daughter Debora Lynn Ford; siblings: Ruth Weaver, Theodore (Ted) Weaver, Floyd Weaver. She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband: Clyde D. Ford Sr., two sons Floyd (Orleane) Ford, Clyde D. Ford, Jr.; brothers: Clifford Weaver, and Archie Weaver. Grandchildren: Kristoffer Ford, Tiffanie (J.D.) McLemore, Jeffrey (Natasha) Ford, Brieauna Ford, Cleaster Mccollough, Michael Ford. A host of great grandchildren and other family members.
