Obituary for Betty Lou Herb (Hafer) Betty Lou Herb, 84, of Reading, passed peacefully in her residence July 26, 2018. Born in Lorane, Pa, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Annie (Reidenauer) Hafer. A graduate of Mount Penn High School class of 1951, she worked in data entry for Met Ed for many years until her retirement. Betty Lou enjoyed gardening, golf, shopping, and bowling. She loved a good laugh, and was happiest when socializing. She will undoubtedly be remembered lovingly by all who knew her, as a woman who was immeasurably kind, fun-loving, independent, and tirelessly energetic. She is survived by her daughter Sandy (Herb) Adams of Mt. Penn, two grandchildren Luke Adams and Heather Adams, brother Jack Hafer and sister Nancy (Hafer) Miller. She was pre deceased by one brother Robert Hafer and one sister Beatrice Kingree. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 4, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. with services beginning at 2:30 p.m. in Lutz Funeral Home 2100 Perkiomen Avenue Reading, PA 19606. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund, 2201 Ridgewood Road Suite 180, Wyomissing, PA 19610.
