Bartolome Pakingan Reyes J July 9 1957 May 22 2018

Obituary for Bartolome Pakingan Reyes J. Bartolome P. Reyes, Jr. was born in Imus, Cavite, in the Philippines in 1957. He was the youngest of nine children born to Cipriana and Bartolome Reyes, Sr. He is survived by daughters Rachel and Alyssa Reyes; sisters Rosalia (Conrado) Herrera, Consolacion (Dominador) Herrera, Victoria (Federico) Coladilla and Pat Dukes; brothers Mariano (Guadalupe) and Benjamin (Elvira); 16 nieces and nephews; and 11 grandnieces and grandnephews. He was employed at the Queen’s medical center for over 34 years, mostly in the Kekela unit as a psychiatric registered nurse. He worked several years at Kahi Mohala Behavioral Health and also with Helping Hands Hawaii and Care Rerdzt/source Hawaii as a psychiatric case manager. He provided for his family as best as he knew how. His daughters remember him cooking steak and lamb dinners, taking the family to the beach and bringing home breakfast from the Queen’s Medical Center cafeteria. An audiophile at heart, he lived his life surrounded by his eclectic collection of music ranging from jazz, classical, pop, 80’s rock and his favorite band Journey (with Arnel Pineda as lead singer). Special thanks to: Boyd Hurley, Security & Safety Services manager at the Queens Medical Center; caring Kekela unit staff members (especially Cindy, Marlina and Evie for their support) and our family of prayer warriors (Karen, Marian and Matt, Debbie and John, Dahlia and Jason, Zoe and Scott, and Mike, Christina & Xavier). Private services held. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Bartolome Pakingan Reyes J. please visit our Sympathy Store.
