Obituary for Arthur Gruenwald Arthur John Gruenwald, age 75 years old, passed away on June 30th, 2018. He was a resident of the city of Fountain for the last year and lived in Colorado since 1983. He was a Fire Fighter/Lieutenant on the Brookfield, Wisconsin Fire Department for 15 years. He worked for the Manitou Springs Fire Department as Fire Inspector and was a 911 Operator at the Air Force Academy and Fort Carson Fire Department until he retired. Arthur was born on May 9th, 1943 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to parents Arthur Gruenwald and Dorothy (Pagelsdorf) Gruenwald (both deceased). On March 6, 1965 he married Kathleen Jean Ash at Galilee Lutheran Church in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. Arthur is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kathleen, and four children: Brian John – children Jonathan and Marlayna, Kimberly Jean – children Kyle, Christina and Justin, Daniel Arthur and Connie – children Gabriella and Illianna, Timothy H. and daughter Kaylee; a sister, Carol Mateske and husband Roger and nephew, Billy, niece, Jennifer, and nephew, Jonathan. He was preceded in death by brother, Martin Gruenwald. He was a staunch supporter of the Fire Department his whole life. His other interests were woodworking and golf. He would watch any kind of car racing, which he participated in during his late teen years, and was one of the most diehard Green Bay Packers fans around. He will be missed by family and friends, especially: Ray and Chris, Ron and Jan, Bob and Holly, Bob and Verna and Jimmy and Dina, and all his friends at the Knucklehead Bar. Art’s family would also like to acknowledge the most amazing staff at the Penrose Cancer Center. There will be an open house from 1pm to 5pm at the family home in Fountain, Colorado on July 21st, 2018. A 2nd gathering will be held in Wisconsin for family and friends. That date is pending.
