Obituary for Arnold Helms Mr. Arnold Oren Helms, 83, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018. He was born in Union County, NC on April 24, 1935. He was the son of the late Robert Oren Helms Sr. and Bessie Aycoth Helms. Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm, Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Shiloh Baptist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00pm until 2:45pm, at the church. Arnold is survived by his loving wife Alva Price Helms, a son Danny Helms, wife DeAnn, two daughters Fran Moore, husband Rick and Tina Johnson, husband Robb, all of Monroe, one brother, Robert O’ Helms Jr, of Monroe, and two sisters, Coleen Norton of Banner Elk, and Brenda Wilhelm of Monroe, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Shiloh Baptist Church, 2301 North Rocky River Rd, Monroe, NC 28110.
