Anne Scherer 74, of Briarcliff Manor, NY passed away on July 29, 2018. Anne was born on Jan. 22, 1944 to the late John and Helen (nee McDonald) Shanks in Glasgow, Scotland. Anne attended school in Glasgow, Scotland and graduated High School at the age of 15. She worked for Fife Douglas for two years in Scotland before immigrating to the United States in August of 1961. Anne then went to work as an Executive Secretary for the Del Monte Food Corp in 1961 until retiring in 1996. Anne is survived by the love of her life William Scherer. Also survived by her sister Helen McGuire of Yonkers, NY, her two nephews Stephen (Theresa) McGuire of Poughquag, NY, John Shanks of Queens, NY, her niece Elaine (Frank) Helmrich of Yonkers, NY and her cousin Helen McCoole of Hamilton, Ontario. Anne was predeceased by her brother James Shanks. Reposing, Leach & Thomas Funeral Home, on Wednesday from 4-8 PM. Where Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11 AM. Interment private.
