Obituary for Anna Jean Bretzinger Anna Jean Bretzinger, age 84, of Rensselaer, Indiana passed away June 21, 2018 at Parkview Haven, Francesville, Indiana. The daughter of Samuel and Johanna (Koenes) Boomsma, Anna was born in on August 18, 1933, in Hammond, Indiana. Anna attended and graduated from Illiana Christian High School. She received her degree in Dietary Management from Ivy Tech in Lafayette. Anna began working at the Jasper County Hospital in Rensselaer as a cook and then as the Certified Dietary Manager of the Food Service Department. On September 19, 1952 Anna married John Kelderhouse and on June 7, 1969, in Munster, Indiana Anna married Ernest W. Bretzinger. Anna was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Rensselaer and the Ladies Red Hat Society. She loved music and doing craft projects. Surviving are her loving family, daughter, Sandra Lee (Robert) Sipkema and step-son, Russell J. Bretzinger both of Rensselaer; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and son-in-law, Donald Amsler of Rensselaer. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Johanna, her husband John and her husband Ernest, two daughters, Jo Anne Kelderhouse and Brenda Sue Amsler, and a step-son, Robert E. Bretzinger. Friends may call on Monday, June 25, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Rensselaer on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor John Hostetter officiating. Burial will follow at Osborne Cemetery, Rensselaer, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Women in Rensselaer, the Good Samaritan Food Pantry in Rensselaer or to Parkview Haven in Francesville, Indiana.
