Peoria – Ann Merrick, 87, of Palm Harbor, FL, formerly of Peoria, departed her earthly life peacefully to be with our Lord on Sunday July 22, 2018. Ann was born in Sikeston, MO, relocated to Peoria, IL and later to the Tampa, FL area. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Flora Bell Minner, her siblings Harley, Herbert, Robert, Thomas, Charles, Helen, Mary, Glenda and Wilma and her son Jack. Ann was a loving mother and grandmother, who kept current with everyone through calls, cards, social media and email. In addition to raising eight children, Ann was a successful entrepreneur, operating an upscale women’s clothing boutique and two modeling agencies. Early into her retirement, Ann settled in Palm Harbor becoming an active member of Eastlake United Methodist Church, including the Caregiving Ministry. Ann was an energetic YMCA member always on the move in dancing and swimming classes. Ann will be long remembered for her infectious smile, boundless energy, sense of fashion and unwavering faith. The family welcomes friends to join them in celebrating Ann’s life at services in both Florida and Illinois. In Florida: a visitation and viewing from 5 to 7 pm Saturday July 28 at Curlew Hills, 1750 Curlew Road, Palm Harbor, FL; and a memorial service from 2 to 4 pm Sunday July 29 at Eastlake United Methodist Church, 2801 East Lake Road, Palm Harbor, FL. In Illinois: graveside service at 11 am August 4 at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Bartonville, IL with a reception immediately after at Fairview Farms, 5911 W Heuermann Road, Peoria, IL.
