Stanley Houston Anderson December 21 1955 June 3 2018

Obituary for Stanley Houston Anderson There are some people that make you laugh a little louder, smile a little brighter and live just a little bit better. Stan “The Man” Anderson, age 62, of Lexington, Tennessee was one of those people. Born on December 21, 1955, Stan was that son, brother, father and friend that lived his life out loud. And you could count yourself lucky having been a part of his life. A third-generation watermelon grower, he was known and loved by so many. He, like his father, Earl, was a people person. Stan loved to meet new folks, talk about fishing and work hard in the fields. If you ever stopped by Anderson Farm Market to buy a watermelon or tomatoes, you’ve no doubt been entertained by “the entertainer” himself, spending more time there than you’d planned. An avid hunter and fisherman, Stan was known to bag his limit, and maybe, sometimes, just a little bit more. Stan loved his children, Ashley and Chad, and his sweet sister, Nancy. He also shared a very special bond with his granddaughter, Jadyn Elise, who was the light of his life. If a man’s friendships are one of the best measures of his worth, then Stan was a very rich man. He had a very close-knit group of best friends and an even wider net of great friends. The sheer number of the lives he touched is innumerable. The stories about Stan and all of his friends are the kind of stories of which legends are made. They will be told for years to come. A 1973 graduate of Lexington High School, where he played football, and was a member of Sand Ridge Baptist Church, Stan passed away peacefully surrounded by his friends and family after a brief illness. Stan is preceded in death by his father, Earl Anderson. He is survived by children, Ashley (Marcus Hammond) and Chad, granddaughter, Jadyn, mother, Jo Ann Anderson (Bill Stewart), and sister, Nancy Ann Anderson, all of Lexington, TN; brother Tim (Kara) of Knoxville,TN, niece Avery (Wilson Raines) Memphis, TN and nephew Hayden Anderson, Atlanta, Ga. The family will receive friends Monday, 3 p.m.- 8 p.m. at Reeds Chapel, Lexington, TN and on Tuesday, 10a.m.-3 p.m. at Sand Ridge Baptist Church. Services will be held at 3 p.m. at Sand Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Runyon officiating. Interment will follow at Sand Ridge Cemetery.
