Obituary for James Shannon Jr. James Aloysius Shannon, Jr. passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018. He was 82. Jim was born in Philadelphia, PA to Sarah (nee McGaughey) and James Aloysius Shannon. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Marie (nee Rosemiller); daughters, Victoria Trost (William) and Kimberley Wick (Craig); grandchildren, Emily and William Trost and Shannon and Amanda Wick; siblings, Robert Shannon and Florence Bythrow; and many nieces and nephews. Jim attended North Catholic High School in Philadelphia and worked as a tool and die maker for 38 years. He enjoyed fishing, visits to the shore, horse races, and was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. Jim enjoyed playing baseball and was an avid baseball fan and followed both the Phillies and the Mets. Jim’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, April 11 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at James J. McGhee Funeral Home, 690 Belmont Ave., Southampton, PA and again on Thursday, April 12 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 611 Knowles Ave., Southampton, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the Shannon family has requested donations in Jim’s name be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
