Douglas Wayne Bilderback 2018

Douglas Wayne Bilderback, 77, loving husband and father, fell asleep in death May 26, 2018. Born in Phillips, Texas, Oct. 10, 1940, to Charles G. and Laura Louise (Lowe). He married his partner of 52 years Sandra Ann (Laramee) Feb. 25, 1967. He loved fishing, hunting, snowmachining, mechanics and motorcycling, but most of al his family, daughters Teri McKee and Joni Pearcy; sons Charles and wife Kali, and James McCormick; sister Linda Lemanski; and brother Gary. He was a grandfather of seven, and a great grandfather of four, with three more on the way. He moved to Alaska in 1974, working as a carpenter in Hydaburg, Ketchikan, Craig and Sitka, and the Kenai Peninsula on the Central Peninsula Hospital, Soldotna High School and Kenai High School. He was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness in 1985 and faithful to the end. He was a Class A machinist and a tool and die designer, having several commendations from NASA for designs they accepted on the Apollo project. He is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Joni Pearcy. A memorial will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at Kingdom Hall in Soldotna.
