Dorothy Thompson Gargis, 88, of Decatur, AL formally of Leighton passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018.Visitation will be Saturday, June 30, 2018 from 1-2 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with service to follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel. She was a member of Leighton Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Irous and Nolia Kyle; 1st husband, Arnold Lee Thompson; 2nd husband, Bruce Gargis; son, Michael Lynn Thompson; sister, Jessie Jo Thompson. She is survived by her daughters, Vickie Thompson Spangler of Decatur, AL and Kathy Thompson Richards (Mark L) of Daphene, AL; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sister, Edna Thompson; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Mark Richards, Matthew Richards, Brandon Lovett, Frank Spangler, Jr, and Stephen Greenleaf. Special thank you to Cedar Springs Assisted Living in Decatur, Hospice of the Valley of Decatur, AL, and NHC HealthCare in Moulton, AL.
