Obituary for Ann Meagher (Dupre) Ann Elizabeth Meagher, 92, of Mt. Airy, Maryland, died Thursday, May 24, at Dove House Hospice in Westminster, Maryland, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Webster, Massachusetts, daughter of Walter and Helena Dupre, a graduate of St. Louis High School and Newport School of Nursing where she earned an RN degree. Ann’s nursing career included private duty and hospital nursing, and at the end of her career she worked in geriatrics at Webster Nursing Home until her retirement. Ann then moved to York, Maine, where she lived for 17 years, and then to Mt. Airy, Maryland. In York, she was an active member of the York Senior Center where she had many friends and was loved for her sense of humor. She enjoyed a variety of activities including baseball and the Red Sox, travelling, attending concerts and plays, and shopping. Ann was an avid knitter, and every one of her great-grandchildren could look forward to something hand knit by Gigi every Christmas. She loved her country and had great respect for the American flag. Ann was predeceased by her husband, Robert G. Meagher, who died in 1981. She is survived by her three daughters, Sharon Schur of Bellevue, Nebraska and husband Allan, Eileen Nace of Mt. Airy, Maryland and husband Richard, and Jeannie Rudman of York, Maine, and husband Earl; a brother, Francis Dupre, of No. Haledon, New Jersey, a sister, Jean Gaudette and numerous grandchildren and great -grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, July 18 at 1pm in the Parish Hall of First Parish Church in York, Maine. There will be a private burial in St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Webster.
