Andrew “Andy” F. Liebhart, 85, of La Salle, died June 16, 2018 in St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley. Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Thursday in St. Hyacinth’s Church in La Salle with Rev. Gregory Jarzombek OSB officiating. Burial will be in St. Vincent’s Cemetery in La Salle with full military services conducted by the La Salle/Oglesby Veterans Memorial Group. Visitation will be 4 to 7:00 PM Wednesday in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle. Additional visitation will be in the church on Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of services. Andy was born in La Salle on October 24, 1932 to August and Anna (Stuppy) Liebhart. He served over in Germany with the US Army during the Korean War. He was bricklayer his whole working life. Andy enjoyed gardening and tending to his yard and greenhouse. He grew rare flowers and many vegetables from seeds. He loved his family and all animals. Andy is survived by three sisters, Gita Smith of Peru, Mary Jesiolowski of La Salle and Helen Liebhart of La Salle; many nieces and nephews and his companion, his dog Dolly; two sisters-in-law, Myra Liebhart of Peru and Madeline Liebhart of Oglesby. He is preceded in death by two sisters, Katherine and Audrey Liebhart; five brothers, Claude, August “Bim”, Raymond, Richard, and William Liebhart; two brothers-in-law Harold “Red” Smith and Ralph Jesiolowski.
