EDGERTON—Roland “Rollie” E. Laatsch, age 93, of Edgerton, died Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at his home. He was born in rural Lake Mills on Aug. 14, 1924, the son of Ferd and Laura (Bunke) Laatsch and served in the Merchant Marines and the US Army during and following WWII. Rollie married Margaret M. Krueger on Aug. 13, 1949, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Deerfield. She preceded him in death on Feb. 22, 2016. Rollie was a service foreman for GTE Telephone Company for 40 years from 1948-1988. He enjoyed… Read More » gardening, fishing, hunting, traveling, had the ability to do everything imaginable, and was a staunch supporter of the Milwaukee Brewers. He is survived by his daughter, Marlene (Greg) Voss of Oak Creek; daughter-in-law, Michelle Laatsch of Lake Mills; 6 grandchildren: Travis, Courtney, Adam, Taylor, Ryan, and Tyler; and 2 special nephews, John (Sharon) Krueger and Gerald (Barb) Krueger. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Kevin Laatsch; 4 brothers: Ben, Roy, Franklin, and Edwin; and 3 sisters: Elsie Jones, Marrilla Gulden, and Alice Cromey. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at ST. JOHN EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 207 E. High St. Edgerton. Rev. Carl Seeger will preside and burial will be in the Kroghville Cemetery, north of Cambridge, with full military honors. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at ST. JOHN LUTHERAN CHURCH. Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church. The family is being assisted by the APFEL EHLERT FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, Edgerton.
