Eva Hajas, age 82, of Edgerton, died Friday, May 11, 2018, at her home. She was born in Debrecen, Hungary on Jan. 1, 1936, the daughter of Gyula and Juliana (Reviczky) Veres. Eva immigrated to the United States in the 1950’s, settling in Chicago. It was there that she met and married her husband, Steven Hajas (even though he was on the same ship to America). She is survived by her 2 sons, Peter (Lori) Hajas of Wayzeta, MN, and Steven (Carol) Hajas of Delano, MN; 7 grandchildren: Peter, Eric, Olivia, Steven, Edward, Elizabeth, and Eleanor; as well as a sister, Lia Keleman. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a sister, Baba Nyiredy. A Celebration of Eva’s Life will take place on Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 11:30 a.m. until the hour of her Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. at the APFEL EHLERT FUNERAL HOME, 315 Lord St. (Hwy 51) Edgerton. Fr. Tom Marr will preside and her cremated remains will be buried in Fassett Cemetery.
