LOTTIE PEARL MARCUM, 82, of Ft. Gay, W.Va. passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House surrounded by loved ones. She was born August 27, 1935 at Louisa, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Lewis and Telia Thompson. Also preceding her in death were her husbands, John E. Hayes, and Emmanuel Marcum, along with her brothers and sister, Ezra “Buddy” Thompson, Lewis Thompson, Jr., Shannon Thompson, and Valcie Thompson. Lottie was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She leaves behind six children, Barbara (David) Laney of Walworth, N.Y., Johnny Allen (June) Hayes of Crum, W.Va., Nina A. (Elmer) Stacy of Ft. Gay, James K. (Rebecca) Hayes of Crum, Riley (Charlotte) Marcum of Ft. Gay, and Connie (Keith) Brewster of Dunlow, W.Va.;12 grandchildren, Lori A. Laney, Sylvia Hayes, Cynthia (Jesse) Bowen, Bethany Stacy (Travis Shortridge), Vanessa (Matt) Wolfe, James A. Hayes, Keisha (Michael) Gillespie, Sabrina Jude, Jaimalynn Marcum, Connor Marcum, Tiffani Brewster, and Destini Brewster; five great grandchildren, Kailee Bowen, Victoria Gillespie, Kaleb Gillespie, Riley Shortridge, and Dakota Shortridge; many special nieces, and nephews; special friends Debbie Stroud and Carolyn Waller; and many friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Pastor Greenway Parsley officiating. Burial will follow in the Marcum James Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
