Virginia Beach – Edward “Newton” Dance, 78, passed away May 29, 2018. He was born in Norfolk VA to Edward Thomas Dance and Hazel Ralph Meads. He attended Granby HS and is a graduate of Randolph-Macon Academy where he lettered in football and was a proud member of the Drill Team. He retired from Ford Motor Company, Norfolk Assembly Plant, in 1992 with over 30 years of service. Newton is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sandra, sister, Carole, and beloved grandchildren, Ashley, Jonathan (Jennifer), Brandon, and Patrick (Moriah), great grandchildren, Calen, Rylan, Declan, and Easton, nephew, niece, cousins and McGrath family members. He was predeceased by his son Robert “Bob” Dance. A chapel service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, June 4, 2018, in the Virginia Beach Chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Chapel of Peace, Princess Anne Memorial Park.
