On Tuesday, May 1st, 2018 David Irving Korsh, age 61, died peacefully with his family at his side in Vienna, Virginia after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Martha Herbig, daughters Sylvia Rosales (Nishal Narechania), Grace Rosales, Olivia Rosales, and granddaughter Corrinne Narechania; his younger brother, Eric Korsh, sister-in-law, Diane Korsh, and their children, Danielle Korsh Macedo (Shane Macedo), and Cole Korsh; and his youngest… Read More » brother Barry Korsh. He leaves behind many other loving relatives and friends, all of whom he considered family. He had a gregarious and fun-loving nature that will always be cherished by his family and many friends. Possessing a unique gift for making people feel special, many considered David to be their best friend. He was a man with unrivaled wit, charm, intellect and above all – humility. David was the first son of the late Edward and Lillian (Wagshol) Korsh and was born in San Antonio, TX. The family eventually settled in Rutherford, New Jersey where David spent his formative years. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History at Rutgers, continued his academic career by earning a Masters of Arts in American History from Columbia University and a Juris Doctorate from Georgetown Law School. He served as a staffer on Capitol Hill for many years, as well as positions at National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and URAC. From 2004 until his passing he served as the Director of State Services for the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association in Washington, D.C. Each of David’s friends was a stranger once, yet his kindness, compassion, and intellect quickly turned strangers into friends. His love for his family came with no conditions. His life, full of kindness, fun, and love, will be celebrated at St. Mark School Gymnasium, 9772 Vale Road, Vienna, VA on May 12th at 11:00 AM.
