Cynthia L Spampinato 2018

Cynthia L. ‘Cindy’ Spampinato, age 54, passed peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Thursday, May 24, 2018 in Marshall, Virginia. She was born on August 7, 1963 in York, Pennsylvania, daughter of Larry R. Knipple and the late Marilyn Freed. Gracefully and with perseverance, Cindy fought Her2+ breast cancer for nearly three years. During her battle she was an inspiration to all with her positive attitude, sense of humor and will to live life to the fullest every day. After graduating from Manheim Township High School in Lancaster, PA in 1981, Cindy proudly served 8 years in the United States Marine Corps. She was stationed in Okinawa, Japan; Quantico, Virginia and Parris Island, South Carolina. For more than 20 years Cindy built a career in Real Estate as a Broker Owner with RE/MAX and most recently worked for Toll Brothers in Virginia. However, her most important role was always being a mother to her children. Cindy is survived by her husband and love of her life Paul Spampinato; father, Larry R. Knipple and his wife, Patricia of Lancaster, PA; her three children whom she adored, daughter, Megan Kassinger and her husband, John of Ohio, sons, Mitch Kusche of New York and Kyle Kusche of North Carolina and step-son Cameron Kearney of North Carolina; siblings, sister and best friend Christine Hojnacki and her husband, John of Wisconsin, loving brother, Tommy Colbert and his spouse, Sharif of Georgia and Cindy’s two grandchildren who brought her the greatest joy and happiness, Camerra ‘popper junior’ & Carter Kassinger of Ohio; and her English bulldogs, Bubba & Lulu spent every day by her side. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 6 at 11 am at Moser Funeral Home, 233 Broadview Ave., Warrenton, VA followed by interment at Culpeper National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested charitable donations be made in memory of Cindy Spampinato to support Her2 breast cancer research at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Donations may be sent to The Medical College of Wisconsin – Office of Development, 8701 Watertown Plank Rd., Milwaukee, WI 53226 or donate at MCW.edu, select the “other option” in the designation field indicate Her2 research in honor of Cindy Spampinato
