Marilyn Lorraine Cole Baldwin January 16 1930 December 31 2016 (age 86)

Obituary Service Details Marilyn Lorraine Cole Baldwin, 1053 South Cedar Knolls West, Cedar City, UT, age 86 returned to her Heavenly Father, peacefully surrounded by her family on December 31, 2016. She was born on January 16, 1930, in Porterville, CA to Phillip Monroe Cole and Venita Kellerhalls Cole. Her mother later divorced and married Douglas Smith who was a wonderful father to Marilyn and her siblings as well as grandfather to their children. In 1953, she married George Schmall. To this union was born George Eugene, Venita Lorraine and Ardith Lee. They later divorced. In 1959, she married Vernon Lee Baldwin. To this union was born Marilee Lynn. Marilyn was born at the beginning of the depression and grew up moving from town to town in Southern California where her father could find work. As a result of this she became very proficient at making do, use it up, wear it out or go without. She could make an amazing meal out seemingly nothing. It is no surprise that the last job she worked before illness forced her retirement was as a catering chef at Culinary Crafts in Orem, UT. She was a perfectionist. This was evident in all she did. She and Vernon began married life in Ramona, CA. Six years later they moved to Montrose, CO where Vernon worked for his brother Jack Baldwin who owned a Mayflower Moving Company. Two years later found them in Aztec, NM and a year later to Bloomfield. NM, where they lived for seven years before moving to Milford, UT. After several other moves, they settled in Orem, UT until they came to live with daughter, Marilee and son in law, Ron in Cedar City, UT. While living in Bloomfield, Marilyn, Vernon and Marilee joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Marilyn served faithfully in many teaching and compassionate service callings for the rest of her life. She especially loved to attend the temple and did so weekly after she retired. She left a beautiful legacy of faith. Faith in her Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. Faith in helping others without judgment. Faith in doing what is right. Her greatest love was the Gospel of Jesus Christ and her family. She held a firm belief that Families Are Forever and that we will all be together again. Her last request was to keep her family close. She is survived by her son George E. Baldwin (Christine), Grand Junction, CO., daughters, Venita L. Baldwin, San Francisco, CA., Ardith L. Turner, Pocatello, ID., and Marilee L. Lowe (Ronald), Cedar City, UT. Grandchildren, Marie Baldwin, Kimberly Baldwin Auraila Davis (Royden), Nathaniel Schmall , Tyffanee Lowe Snyder (Jason), Brendon Lowe ( Taylor), Bretten Lowe and Alyssa Lowe, eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
