On May 12, 2018 our sweet mother, Kristine Paulsen McGhie aka Rich, Beautiful Aunt Kristine passed away at the age of 89. Mom was born on July 5, 1928 in Moreland, ID to Abel and Borghild Paulsen. She graduated from East high school in 1945 and from BYU in 1949 with a BA degree in Radio Speech. She later graduated from Columbia University in 1950 with a MA in Teaching the Deaf. While living in New York she met the love of her life, Lynn McGhie. Within a couple of weeks, they were dating and were later married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 30, 1961. Kristine is survived by her daughter, Melissa (Mel) Farr, her sons Finn (Jenny Schwamb) and Zeke, and her 5 grandchildren Mischa, Fiona, Anders, Isabella, and Gabriel. She is also survived by her many adoring Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Lynn McGhie, her parents Abel & Borghild (Mor) Paulsen, her sister Bergliot (Art) Thompson, her brothers Finn (Sara), Abel (Bonnie), and Carl (Carol) Paulsen. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 18th at 1:00pm at the Holladay 18th Ward located at 2625 East Milo Way (4910 South), Holladay, UT. Friends and family can visit Thursday May 17th, at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, Salt Lake City, UT 84109, from 6-8pm and at the church Friday from 11:30am to 12:30pm prior to the service.
