Joan Thompson Wood 2018

Joan Thompson Wood, 72, passed away on May 30, 2018 and returned to her Heavenly Father. Joan was born on December 21, 1945 in Ogden, Utah to Byron and Betty Ann Slater Thompson. She married Jay Lynn Wood on September 17, 1964 in the Salt Lake Temple. Joan was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many callings, including three missions: Milwaukee, Wisconsin Mission, Ogden, Utah Mission, and the Addiction Recovery Mission. She retired from the Weber County School District as a Unit Manager School Cook. She enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Jay; her children: Don (Sheryl) Wood, Brent (Diane) Wood, Christine (Travis) Poulson, and Melaney Wood; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 8 sisters; Karen (Kimball) Barney, June (Theo) Endrizzi, Gail (Rulon) Passey, Lois (Ron) Parry, Connie (Calvin) Keyes, Laurie (John) Sorensen, Marie (Earl) Davis, and Sherri (Robert) Nelson. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Wayne Thompson. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the North Ogden 15th Ward, 770 E 2100 N, North Ogden. Viewings will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday prior to the services from 10 to 10:40 a.m. at the church. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery
