Obituary for Deanne Moore Craig Purdy Deanne Moore Craig Purdy, 71, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend passed away Tuesday May 29th, 2018 in Provo, Utah from Leukemia. Deanne was born December 16, 1946 to Iver Cecil and Myrna Olsen Moore in Lovell, Wyoming. She loved her pioneer heritage and ancestry in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Being a descendent of 25 direct Mormon pioneer ancestors who were in Utah before 1869, she had been a member and officer of Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Her church service was unending and included calls to several stake board positions, Relief Society president, and teacher for many years. She was frequently involved in church cultural arts and musical productions. She loved family history and temple work and served in the Provo Temple as an organist, an ordinance worker, and at the family file desk. She was a volunteer worker for Book of Mormon Central. Graduating with an Associates in Music Education from Ricks College in 1967, throughout her life she continued her pursuit of knowledge and love for the creative arts, finally graduating with a BA in Humanities with an emphasis in Music Education, from Brigham Young University in 2005. She especially loved the works of Shakespeare and in 1991, she and her sister, Kayleen, published Inspired Quotes from the Pen of Shakespeare, a religious anthology for use by the speaker, student, or teacher. She also loved musical composition and taught private voice, organ and piano lessons for many years. Her publications include 27 Simplified LDS Hymns, in English and in Spanish, Mr. Friskers’ Whiskers, and a screenplay, God’s Lot. Two weeks after she turned 16, she started four years of employment for J.C. Penney Company in Sheridan, Wyoming. She loved working with the public and going to school. But she always felt that her greatest accomplishment was in raising seven very talented children. After raising her family, she returned to work in purchasing or as a secretary at Great Salt Lake Minerals and Chemicals, Weber State Bookstore, and Brigham Young University. Deanne married Ferril Muir July 18, 1967 in the Idaho Falls Temple. Children: Amy (Todd) Wilhelm, Aaron (Juliette) Muir, Cameron (Wendy) Muir, Anna (Jason) VanShaar, Holly (Spencer) Castle, Emily (Darren) Pearson, and Dustin (Muir) Craig. Married Ellis Edward Craig, April 27, 1996 in the Provo, Utah LDS Temple. Married Victor William Purdy, February 5, 2002 in Provo, Utah.
